I'd say for most Mercedes, debadged, just looks cleaner and less guady (not that they do look gaudy in the first place). Less chrome can be a good thing. A debadged W126 (especially a 560SEC) looks very very cool to me. I would debadge mine but it is so dirty around the badged area that I'm afraid I couldn't get it looking good

I like the de-badged look on the W210, besides the stickum on my letters started to fail and I lost a couple in the car wash. Don't need people asking what a "TU BODIE EL" is, so I just took them all off

For my 240D, I went with the euro badging style. Took off the diesel emblem and filled the holes. Looks cleaner and more unique to me. Almost fully debadged, but decided I would keep the 240D to remind people behind me why I'm going so slow

Debadged. That's how mine came when my dad ordered it. It looks very clean, especially on the white car (the debadged look is also great on a black car). The trunk lid just looks so uncluttered and "sophisticated." My car has a clean look all around ... no pinstriping, no badging, no plate indent on the front bumper.
That's not to say I think badged models look crappy or anything ... and if they were all unbadged, then there'd be too many times I'd see a 124 or 126 in a parking lot and wonder if it's a diesel ... but never know (unless someone gets in and starts it up).

Only debadged if it's from the factory like that. I have two vehicles that are factory debadge.

I believe mine came from the factory with no badges, so I consider that "stock" for my car.

I'm certainly not trying to hide the fact that it's a diesel. I just figure the car will speak ... errrr, clatter, for itself when the engine is running. Anyone who knows automotive sounds will know right away what the deal is under the hood, and anyone who can't figure it out (oh man, I think you're timing is off or something! That sounds awful!) ... I don't care about them.

VERY few times I've seen the factory debadge cars. If I order anything new again, it will be. It's usually a zero cost option, for stealth. My stripper 380SE with a 5.0 is one now.

Was it not a special option with the 6.9 to have the Mercedes badge removed at a cost of a $1000.-?

If I paint my car in the future I will leave the DIESEL badge off, I like the clean look.

Don't know if it cost that much. Anyone can take them off with some dental floss or light fishing line. The trick is the paint has to be good or you will see it!
