I've been doing some reading over the last few days and I figured out what the thread starter was getting at.

HE REMOVED HIS ALDA!

There is a 9-10 page thread on this. I think he was trying to show off that his was now ALDA free.

Am I right?

I removed mine last night. It will be a few days before I have the car put back together. Maybe longer if I keep breaking stuff... (I broke a linkage end connector last night...)

Neat, I just replaced the right-angle hose fitting on the bottom of that piece with a bit of standard straight hose (it had cracked completely off), got my power back! Maybe I'll flush it when I have a chance, see if I get more POWAH...

Yea, well, I try to be modest...

But seriously, the photo doesn't really show where the ALDA used to be. It just shows the abandoned OB Protection Solenoid.

I guess I should have gone back and read it from the beginning before I posted anything, lest I make a memory mistake! Heaven forbid...

I've read so many threads over the last couple of days it is hard to remember what was said where and by whom. All I know right now is that I was a 12mm deepwell socket away from having my glow plugs replaced (I got all but the #1) and being ready to put everything back together again. Then I broke a throttle linkage socket.

Actually, I did remove the ALDA, yes, but I didnt do my switch like that. Someeone apparently before me rigged it like that. So I guess, since I have no ALDA, it doesnt matter that my OB Switch isnt hooked up?

Have I done something to offend you? You just keep shoving that back up in my face like a child who just saw his teacher do something wrong. Yes, it took me a while to fully understand the significance of what was being said. Completely removing the ALDA was a major step in thinking. I had to go back and do several pages worth of reading to fully understand what was going on. I even posted a question that had been answered a day earlier. Congratulations! You found out that I am not perfect! Isn't there something better you can do with your time than bring this up over and over again?
