How many dash clusters have american info?

my 79 TD has American water temp, oil pressure, and all. weird to see 45psi and 175*F on a German car...
but hey, the clock works!

Thats strange. I do not remember if my old 74' 240D was in fahrenheit or celcius. I do know that my 85' 380SE is in celcius, which is fine, but I wish my outside temperature display was in fahrenheit, instead of celcius though. That did not happen until 86' however on MB's.

You mentioned the clock works on yours, is it typical for them go mess up? Mine is only right twice a day at best.

Not sure - mine works perfectly, but mine is a 1985. Not sure if the older ones are more prone to failure or not- what- with them being older.

If you have clock issues, it isn't TOO hard to fix. Most of the clocks on the older MB's (1985-prior) fail / lose time due to dried up electrolyctic capacitors. If you remove the dash, and disassemble the clock, you can see the two cap's on the circuit board. Buy two new ones, and solder them into place. The clock will work with 100% accuracy.

My clock on my 84 Euro 300D had the same problem, espically in cold weather. If I set it to the proper time the night before, and went out the next morning.. chances are, the clock would have stuck somewhere in the middle of the night. After putting new capacitors on it, it works like a clock should.. and keeps perfect time. No longer do I have to look down at my stereo clock to get the time.. the old analog is easier to read while driving, and is always correct!

*EDIT*
If anybody wants detailed info on how to renovate the clocks, send me a PM, and I'll try to get you the info.

The clock on my '87 SDL worked sporadically when I bought the car. Took the instrument cluster out and cleaned and worked all the gears, and sprayed a little WD-40 on them, and has kept perfect time ever since (for the past year, and counting).
