Non-Smoker!
Hey everyone. Since I have installed a boost controller and gauge on the 300CD, I have noticed very little to almost no smoke out of the exhaust! At night when a car with the headlights on was behind me, I could see smoke coming from the exhaust even under normal cruising on the highway. Now, it barely puffs anything even if I am accelerating pretty good. Could low boost pressure have caused it to smoke excessively? My thoughts were it is using less fuel now cause of the propper boost or the fuel is getting burned more complete and causing less smoke????? What do you all think?

JeremyC......Do an experiment and turn the boost down again. If it smokes then you know boost pressure is aiding complete combustion.
If the exhaust smoke emmssions stay the same then it is probably due to the recent change to cleaner burning ULSD fuel. Or it could be a combination of both new fuel and boost.
