tip:

Dry ice is a great way to remove the tar like sound deadening material in cars.. Put the ice on it.. Remove and pound away and it crumbles

Get Goodyear Comfort Treds

Not sure of the proper spelling of the Tred part (I don't think it's Tread on the tire), but they're supposed to reduce noise (tire noise anyways) and absorb 20% more vibrations than other tires.

it is a science to fix this noise. the amount of area that transmits noise is astounding. the exterior door panels, the firewall, the wheelwells, the floors, the roof of the car, etc. it turns out that just covering up the panels is not enough, the deadner has to actually bond to the surface that is passing the sound. a vibration in the floor can resonate and cause the roof to produce the sound. bonding the dynamat or whatever butyl or mecadum material you choose, causes the metal not to vibrate in the first place... LOTS of work here.

Skid pan if available....

Under the engine with added sound deadner (peal and seal) helped the later models with sound deadner solutions. You might want to try that method of sound protection also.

Peace
