300CD Rear Window Help

My rear passenger side window on my coupe is stuck in the up position- when I hit the switch I can hear the motor but seems it is disconnected or something- how do I get the panel off to inspect what's going on inside that area. I don't have a shop manual and the online ones don't seem to be working for me. If someone with a coupe could give me some tips on removing the panel there - that'd be great.

Thanks

I dont remember exactly but I remember taking my rear seat bottom out and the door seal off the body, you should see screws or clips or something, it wasnt hard.

Thanks- i guess i can start with removing the seat and looking around for the screws- I know on the front doors- it's a bit involved with the moisture seal and the hidden clips that you need a spackle knife or proper tool to pry off without breaking them- was wondering if it was that involved? Anyone have a pdf. of this part of the manual you can link me too?

Be very carefully when taking of the panel, if the the chrome strip on the top comes off you won't get it back on again at least not in the original shape. I would see if you can get the middle part of the panel off. I'm not sure but I think it's possible on the later models.

on my 82 the middle part was held in by staples all the way around it, most of which were loose and had to be redone.

You said it- just got the window working again- but sure enough the silver trim came off and the brittle plastic shroud around the seat belt cracked. Damn it- was perfect when i started. ARGGGGGGGG. Do you think I could find that at a yard or is there a place that sell em. Damn thing was perfect- now- my window works but will expose the crappy job i did getting it off.
