Stop the Chrome from peeling!
I just installed "new" wheels on my SD. I love them! but on one of the wheels has a small spot the size of a penny that is missing the chrome. and has loosend the chrome around the spot about the size of the quater. i want to some how glue the chrome back onto the wheel because i don't want it to start flaking off. and in the process i'm looking for a new wheel... I love my new wheels they are the wheels i've always wanted on the car... I'll post pictures once i get my hands on a digital camera.

No way to repair it, worse yet when the chrome gets flaky in the area around the bead it will result in a slow leak and you will wear your tire(s) out prematurely if you don't keep the pressure up above 32 psi
The plating shops have to strip the old chrome to rechrome them, and that adds a lot of cost and can't be done in the Bay Area (Calif Air Resources Board = CARB) The best wheels would be painted silver ones. I have a flat face 15 in. 126 wheels oin my 300TD's and wish they were the painted ones, I don't really care for the Bling look.

You can stop the spread with some superglue gel applied around the edge of the peeling, but you have to make sure you get it into the edge, and that it seals it completely so water wont get under it and cause further corrosion/peeling. Somewhat redneck but it works, especially as a temporary fix. Also stops clearcoat holes from growing in paint....
