And So I wonder......(W116/617)

Is it a good idea to chem flush the oil cooler out every now and again?

how problematic are rear subframe mounts on am '80 116?
When I drive over a bump in the road, I get the usual dull thud from all but the passengers rear tire.
new tires, tight lugs, good bearings. Havn't touched anything else back there. Subframe bushings? shock mounts? I know the shocks are BAD...
it sounds like what a truck with no shocks driving over rail road tracks.

Thumbs up

I wouldn't waste my time flushing the cooler...

Your suspension rubber is almost 30 years old with nearly 300,000 miles. That alone should be your answer.

The oil cooler never gets contaminated.........why would you put a chemical in there that will cause a residue in the new oil that is finally installed?

MB says to never use oil additives in their engines. It's impossible to get all of the flush out of the engine.
