Help!
I removed my dash cap and replaced it with one that had no cracks. After everything was hooked up, I found a extra switch of sort! There is a gray wire with purple strip and a red wire.

Yes I did take notes and everything works so far. I would like to get this part buttoned up so I could move on.

Go to picture 39 and 40. If that is the connection. I Think it goes to the heated seat connection. Not 100% sure. I don't remember connecting it to anything. Someone will post if they know for sure. Dave

Does that go to temp sensor on top middle of dash?
Sure does look like the connector Dave is referring to.

usually we don't remember to unhook the sensor, and it pulls itself apart.....

I don't remember removing the dash sensor line either. But the picture I refereed to was before I removed the dash. Just the center console was removed at that point.
I have searched the electrical diagrams and cannot find a Red and Gray/Violet wire in the schematics. Not saying it is not there, just can't find it in the electrical section. Obviously it is there in the 240D pictures. Could not find it in the 300TD pictures. This ones got me stumped. Dave If anything it goes to the center console/ACC control at the center console. Since I had not removed the dash yet. I seem to remember that line. And not figuring out where it went. But everything is OK in the car. It is possible that it goes to the Becker radio the Mercedes used to have.

OK just tore out the radio and ashtray to figure this out.
Found the connector in my car. It's not connected to anything The part number on the connector is 008 545 08 28. Not sure about the first 2 numbers, a little damaged. If that is the number on your connector , "Fogetaboutit". Mine is not connected to anything either. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and find out what it goes to. Dave

It is not possible to be any MORE help than Dave is. Wow I'm impressed, and if I might be selfish for a moment, I'm glad he's here to help me too......
