Don't know what the plastic sheet underneath is called 1990 300D

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out the name for the hard plastic sheet that is mounted on the bottom of my 1990 300D 2.5. It is large and covers the transmission, some of the exhaust, etc. I need to order a new one but I don't know what it is called or the part number. Thanks for any insight,

Mike

Answer:

The typical name for it is "Belly pan".

Have a great day.

I believe the formal name is "annoying thing that gets in the way".

Either you need to be under the engine and that thing is stopping you from seeing anything or you are working above and you of course drop a bolt or something and there it goes, sitting on top of that pan. Now you've got to take it off just to get your bolt...

That's why I love telescoping magnet pens.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I live in the NY/NJ area. Anyone know of a good yard that might have this? Thanks again,

Mike

Unfortunately, since boneyards have to drain fluids in cars, it is usually destroyed/discarded before the car gets into the yard.

Best of luck, if you find any that you don't need, sell 'em here.
