How to replace the (Injection Pump Timing device) Stroke Curve on a bad vacuum pump.

Hello Folks,

I have a 95 E300D W124 with 152k miles and a very bad vacuum pump.

Well pulled the pump and found a badly scared stroke curve. The
instructions say I can't purchase an individual part that I have to
install a complete injection adjusting device. Am I over my head here?
