strange. but also much more affordable.
And more questionable too. I'd ask them how they derived the figure they plan to charge you before you get a nasty surprise

well, from what im hearing, this is more in line with what most folks think the job should cost. as i mentioned, they quoted the price of each mount at $37.50, then labor of 1.75 hrs, at $85/hr. making a total cost of ~$220. from prior experience, this shop has been dead-on with their estimates. and, as it seems like a simple job, i feel like it shouldnt blossom up to cost much more.

Engine shock. That's on my list to fix the martini shaker I like to call my car.
Note that with this shock out the engine mounts take a real pounding and should likely be replaced.

Engine shocks are even easier to change out as well. Mabe that is why the cost anywhere from $40 to $60 a piece. You also need to buy the new rubber parts that is around $15 for each side as well. Money well spent!

Did shocks and mounts on mine. First side took about 25 minutes, the second side about 15. Easy to do. And what a difference!

According to my copy of the Nichol's/Chilton Labot guide....
Changing front mounts for an '82 300SD should take 2.4 hous and the rear 0.9 hours. You do the math.

It does not take that long! I never changed mounts before. I was a mount virgin. This is an easy job. Takes longer to drag the tools out and jack the car up than to do the job.
