yea, it will swing out of the way.. but i would mark the positions on the tranny/front drive shaft and on the dif/rear shaft.... just to be safe... or tow it with the rear wheels on the dolly and the fronts on the ground with the steering locked

Automatic, disconnect the driveshaft at the differential. Manual, just tow it as-is.

![]() not sure if I got the guts to try that. do not like tow dollys to begin with. but thanks mark[/QUOTE] I have towed 240Ds stern first. It helps to make sure the tires on the ground have at least 34lbs of air in them. The weight of the engine makes it a tad squrley but take it easy, its not bad.

I towed a W124 wagon this summer on I-95 at 55 - 60 MPH with the front wheels on the ground and had no problems. Also pulled it onto the ferry with no problems. I rented the dolly from U-Haul and they said that you are supposed to tow with the rear wheels on the ground but that people do it th other way all the time. Just make sure the steering is locked in the straight ahead position.

19D,
What is the vehicle U are towing with? I pulled a 300SDL from MN to PA on a tow dolly with no trouble but I used a 6000 pound PU truck. The heavier the towing vehicle the better. P E H |
