alda adjust q

I've been adjusting the alda on my 84 TDT for months, trying to get a balance of power and white smoke reduction. If I turn the alda screw cw to eliminate smoke it loses too much low-end power. The present setting (@ 1 1/2 turns from wide open) provides power but constant white smoke idling and under load, whether I'm burning dinodiesel or biodiesel.

Is there another adjustment/fix I can make in addition to the alda to solve this problem?

Happy holidays

Coolant Temperature??

What's your Coolant temperature when running?? White smoke can be caused by a cold diesel engine......

About the only time I see a smokeless diesel is when it's not running.

If you have smoke at idle, the ALDA is not the problem. You probably either have a severe air restriction or you are burning coolent.
