I believe I've figured out the Mercedez Benz special antifreese issue! Nobody likes the green stuff because of what it does to the plasic tanks in our radiators, right? Well the foremost ingredient in the green stuff is Ethylene Glycol, a deadly poison and plasic friendly to a point. Ethylene Glycol is somewhat corrosive because it contains an etching compound that does keep the cooling tubes of your radiator free of buildup if changed regularly. Now I've never had the problems of the green stuff and have used it like clock work in ALL my Benz's, however, I've been using a brand called Sierra because of my environmental concerns and to protect my pets and wildlife. The foremost ingredient in Sierra brand is POLYPROPELENE GLYCOL! This is a totally different animal altogether and Sierra has simillar properties and chemical compounds to the Mercedes Benz brand! Polypropolene Glycol is a synthetic/plastic beased antifreese that is not corrosive, but a coating type lubricant that does NOT need to an etching compound because it coats ALL internal parts of your cooling system with a slick poly compound that denies buildup in the first place!!!! What do you guys think? Mercedes Benz antifreese is POLY based! Wouldn't this make sense? Post back and give us your thoughts! I can get Sierra a lot easier than Mercedes Benz own brand.I bet a lot of you could too!
