Great news, the old car is running great now. I installed the new primer pump but it didn’t help any. Since I’d already narrowed the problem down to being under the hood I decided to just move forward from the metal fuel line forward. I then changed the fuel pump & hoses leading into and out of it. This didn’t help either. Then I changed the housing that the metal canister filter bolts to & the lines leading from it to the injection pump. This straightened it out nicely. It really runs good now. From the way the rubber hoses were cut & positioned from the metal fuel inlet to the “L” shaped filter to the fuel pump I began to suspect it had been run without the filter. In fact, the filter than was in it when I bought the car was installed backwards.
Thanks for all the help & I’ve got another couple of questions I’ll post in another thread.
