What the heck?? another "no start" issue - Page 2 - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

ok, i know proabbly everyone is sick of hearing about these no starts. But i figured id post it cause it was somewhat unusual. So its about 35 degrees here. no bigge, ive started the 300D in colder conditions. i went over to my friends hosue at around 12pm and was thier until about 12 am, the whole time we used her car. so 12am rolls around and we call it a night. So i hope in the 300 expecting it to turnover and start.

.. how wrong was i. so started my "endless cranking" i even put the car into netural expecting the netural safty switch. that wasnt it. The "odd" part was that it didnt even make the sound like it was going to start. it was just "womp womp womp womp". the light was doing its normal 10-15 sec rounds. i even glowed like 10 times once and tried to start it. and still no sign it was thinking about comming to life. the bad part about all this was that my cell broke today cause i droped it

cause i was gonna call mercedes road side, and see what they would do, just to test it out. Luckly my friend was in her room and heard my car struggling. so she came out and i did the last resourt and went to the store and bought a bottle of starting fluid. when i got back, tryed cranking it agian, and even glowed it a bunch more to try to start it. so i broke down and used the starting fluid. and "bang bang bang klunk lunk klunk" and she came to life. its so embarasing cause she lives in a wealthy neighborhood and it was so loud. but i had to cause i needed to get back home... Anythought??? i'm going to test the Glow plugs tomorrow, but i dont think thats the culperate cause the GP light did a normal cylce. uhhh the joys of diesels in the winter.

funny thing is i started my Euro 240D today. it hasnt been started in like 2 weeks, and glowed once cranked the usual 2-3 seconds and she sprang to life just fine.
