w123 '83 300d oil line instructions needed
Need to figure out where to start for re-inserting the new lines. I'm having trouble with the line getting wedged and not being able to fit between the powersteering box and engine mount arm. should I take the engine mount arm off?

That's pretty much what it takes. The oil likes are a real pain to change with the engine in the car. I changed mine when I had the engine out on a stand.

If you disconnect the driver side engine mount arm at the frame (not at the engine) and jack up that side of the engine, the job will be a lot easier. Disconnect the throttle linkage at the firewall, too, lest you bend or break something there.

I've removed the shock and engine mount as well, but there still is no room (still between the arm and power steering box). With the arm still on the engine, Maybe I can lift the engine so that the arm is ABOVE the powersteering box and lines, for there is no room otherwise. But I doubt I can lift the engine that high. I think I might give up and and cut off the ends of the old lines and have flexible braided lines from start to finish.
I've tried inserting the flexible side first from the top side of the engine, working my way under the steering pump then feeding that end toward the radiator while twisting and turning the hard line side down until it hits the engine arm, I then try to shove (with a substantial amount of force) the line in between the arm and the power steering line/box but it will not fit. I've tried feeding the line from under the engine, starting behind the crossmember while working the flex side to is final destination, but the hard line side kept that from being completed. I tried from the front of the car, by inserting the hard line first and snaking it through under the power steering pump, with no luck, too many turns in the line. |

I jacked my engine up a couple of inches and the lines went right in, no problem.

Same, here. Pulled mount and shock, went right in. Had a new mount and lines done in about 90min. Not a big deal.

Pretty far.
I dont recall, which was first. I think I did the lower to the cooler as it wraps around the top of the other.
