Your best bet is to check the threads in the archives on the drip test. Should be enough detailed descriptions to easily get by. The drip test is not tied to a social disease by the way.

The best solution, by far, for that vehicle is to use the RIV tester. It's an electronic device that will leave no doubt about the IP timing.

You can rent it from M.B. Doc in the tool rental program and it will allow you to set timing in about 10 minutes with no second guessing the drip timing method that is very difficult to perform for most folks........especially the first few attempts.

Why do you think your injector pump is out of time?

Have you checked timing chain stretch, adjusted valves, checked injectors?diesel purge??

IP's just don't go out of time for no reason.

If the IP is out of time, it's likely the chain elongation. If the chain is far out enough to make a difference, it's time to change it or adjust the IP timing *and* cam timing (With an offset woodruff key.).
