I'll give it try with a pry bar. The idea with a come along sounds ok too. Thats last resort though.

77 rust free chassis eh? Thats exactly what I need. I just don't have the ability to pick it up down in the USA. But I like the idea. I was going to rebuild my chassis, but why when there is a rust free one

The only real rust is a very nasty battery tray rust situation, and then on the drivers side trunk seal area. Sat with leaves in it for a couple years prior to me buying it. Jack points and every thing else is good. Front suspension is good too, with brand new UCA's.....
Whiskey Dan is going to come get it some day if our weather will ever cooperate. I probably need to cut out the drivers side trunk well, as the Squash just has a large hole there that a football could fall through! Only rust on the car, but it ate that panel before a previous owner knew what was happening. They then replaced front and rear windshield seals.

i actually had my indie put a later model adjuster on my 74 240. but it was not a bolt on he had to modify the bracket by cutting and welding. it worked in the end though.

yeah, i thought cool design too til the gears stripped. it is, next to the frankenstein bracket on the ac the worst benz detail ever.

Me too.

I used a big screw driver to pry the alternator over then tightened everything up.

INSTANT FAN BELT TIGHTENER

Hey thats interesting...do you have one?

I did get it tight with a screwdriver. Thanks guys.

The trick, was to pull the gear bolt out of the track, then pry and tighten the lower bolt, then push the adj gear looking bolt back in and tighten it.

Bit of pain. But I have tension, not too much. And no squeals
