300 SD wheel replacements/upgrade

Does anyone know if 1990-1999 or so 500 sl wheels will fit our cars? Seems the offset/bolt circle is about right, but what about the hub centric hole diameter?

Thanks

No, offset is way off. Cost me $100 and a long drive to find out.

R129 wheels will not fit a W126.

If you are looking for the 8 hole's, I am pretty sure that set off a W140 will fit if you put different tires on. The stock tires are to tall and wide, but I think the wheel itself will fit. You need 225/55/16 tires, W140's are 235/60/16 or something like that.

Ill second that. I have a set of 15 holes off a 90 SL and they willk hit the tie rods in front on a 126.

You can find appropriately sized hubcentric spacers on ebay. Can't say waht it will do for the ride. I have some OEM 16"'s on my W123 and 8mm spacers makes it hug corners like no tomorrow.

I just picked up a set of the 10mm 5x112 aluminum ones off ebay and am going to try them out soon as well.

Hub centric, unknown. Offset can be dealt with in only one fashion, if the new rims need to be "sent" outboard, with spacers and proper length lug bolts. I'm in the process of doing this now, waiting on parts. Available at http://ezaccessory.com . You will need to measure current, vs. new rims to get pertinent data. My 126 {'83}, lug bolts 12mm (around) x 1.50 (pitch), shank length, your call. I'm going with 15" rims from a, God only knows what year, 190. There are posts on spacers in the wheel section. Make up your own mind. Tire Rack gives a thumbs down, however, they're trying to sell you rims. I'm convinced aluminium billet hub centric spacers okay. Good luck.

fyi, I believe thats where mine came from- ezaccessory. We tried them tonight on an 83 300CD and an 04 E500. fit right up to the E500, no problem. Had to cut off the extended hub and grind out the inner part of it as well to make it fit over the older style hubs on the CD.
