Question Cleaning Interior Vinyl and MB Tex?

Anyone have a favorite cleaner / technique for restoring the interior vinyl (seats, door panels etc.) back to it's former glory?

On MB-Tex and viynl only, I like to take one of those Mr. Clean cleaning pads that you wet up, and wring out before use. They get the grime and dirt off pretty good. Then, I treat the surfaces with some 303 Aerospace Protectant.

Ditto on the 303 ... the stuff is fantastic. Won't harm the dash or brown it (ArmorAll protectant is terrible that way) and it doesn't collect a film of dust and dirt on it. You can get it at Eastern Mountain Sports. They thought it was odd I was buying it for a car (they asked what kind of boat I was going to use it on ...).

For really grimey places, I sometimes hit it with Simple Green. Sometimes if I venture into areas at the bottom of the seats, or in sort of hidden places, there's coffee grime and scum that needs a more serious cleaner ... Simple Green is pretty effective. I find in those cases I go through several hand sponges or just paper towels. Gross them up, throw em away ...

Is this something special? Or just regular rubber erasers?

Bodhi - would have never thought to look at EMS for 303. Thanks.

magic erasers

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, are a 2 inch by 4 inch micro abrasive sponge. They wear out with repeated use, however for the $2.50, you sure get your moneys worth, as they do clean VERY well. They clean the tex beautifully. You can find them at the local hardware store.....

Please dont use the rubber erasers on your tex--who knows what may result
