Can't find the primer pump
I am trying to start an 87 300d that has not been started in a few months. It sputters but wont start. In my 84 300d the primer pump is on the side of the injection pump but this one is not that way. Is it hidden in another location? Any other ideas why its not starting. (I had the battery recharged at Autozone)

It's a "self priming" IP..
Go ahead and change the fuel filters and prime the big one. Keep it as full as possible when replacing. Manual states NOT to turn the starter more than 30 seconds - that is a bit long for me - it will take a few tries.

So are you saying that this car does not have a primer pump.

![]() Correct. Prefill the large spin on and put your foot to the floor and crank it. 5-8 sec intervals is all I do.

Yes, there is no priming pump. They call it self priming. If it does not prime within 30 seconds of cranking, you have put it together wrong, maybe missing an o-ring or something.
