Where exactly is the rack damper located...

I was looking around the IP for the Rack Damper bolt and just want to make sure I start turning the right things. Is it the bolt on the IP that is horizontal? It thought this may be it but it's 10mm not 12mm as described before...
Hey JackG, maybe you can snap a quick pic. for me...you're good with that stuff...thanks...

It's on the rear of the IP. Bolt with a counter nut.

There are actually two on the back of my pump. One is a stop bolt for the accelerator linkage the other is the rack dampener. The rack dampener is lower, further from the block and between the IP and the oil filter housing kind of behind the oil cooler hose.
There's also a bolt between the IP and the block which controls idle speed.

If you are standing by the driver side fender, looking at the IP, the rear faces the oil filter housing. Look for a bolt with a lock nut, on the rear of the IP. The rack bolt does lay horizontally, and it is parallel to the engine.

http://articles.mbz.org/engine/diesel/rackbolt/

I adjusted mine with the advice in this article, everything worked great. When adjusting the bolt by hand, grip with your right thumb and index finger, AROUND the oil cooler line. It was quite an AH-HA moment when I figured this out
