Very interesting, this camper is back on ebay again - much improved now offered through different seller: Now instead of "Dont expect to go faster than 55-60mph......." new seller claims "I have gotten it up to 80 mph, but She likes to cruise at 65."

Hmmm, it didnt sell on ebay for $5,101 in March. Now that its end of camping season I wonder what it'll trade for now. Otherwise, does anybody have any experience with these vehicles? Exactly how primitive and slooooow are they? And how does the RV kit compare with say, Winnebago Rialta Class B+

I've owned a couple. There are some different gear ratios on them I believe. It could travel at 65mph on the flat I believe. At least my 307d in Europe could. They're pretty peppy. Definitely fun to drive. Pretty good build quality on the ones I've had.

Ooops--I take back those comments. Mine were 5 spds, this is a 4spd.

Wow, I might have enjoyed that on the 6000-mile road trip I just finished. Then again, there were times I cruised at 85mph or so, and I don't think that van has the guts to do those speeds. But still...temptation....

Cheers, John

Not sure it would fit. It looks like there is no extra room in that engine compartment.

617 fits in there but I've never seen how the turbo fits on the turbo models. Must have a different intake than the car versions.

There's at least one company doing RV conversions on the Sprinter. I saw one recently. I'm not sure if the body was modified (I don't see how it could be done easily) but the RV sure seemed longer than most of the other Sprinters I've seen on the road.

It would surely be expensive. Enough to pay for your kid to be a doctor.

Definitely more than one doing the Sprinter conversions. Airstream and Winnebago do them for sure. Class B and Class C's are available. Haven't seen any Class A's in the USA.
