water pump housing: 240 = 300d?
in a 123 body?
i have a fellow who needs one for a 617. i have one but i have a 240 housing that is half way off already. tom w

between the 240d, 616.912 and the300d 617.912 engine there are 2 different housings. the vary at, up to engine #12-067785 & from engine #12-067786 onfo 1977 to 1985 models. RAY M

While they do indeed list two different parts for different ranges, if you look at the part numbers beneath the pictures, they're all the same between the W123 diesels, be it a 240D or either a 300D Turbo or NA.

Thats because of the ac compressor in the "eary" and "later" 123s
