That happened to me as well. I ended up snapping the hard line between the banjo bolt/turbo switchover/ALDA. I replaced the hard line between the banjo bolt on the intake and the turbo switchover valve, and splicing the one between the turbo switchover valve and ALDA.

My Dad did mention too me that he had loosened the throttle linkage, to lessen the idle and to put less stress on the transmission.

But he did that a long time ago.

After the valve adjustment and stuff.

When the car was a beast.

we'll try tightening the throttle linkage too.

As mentioned a few times check your overboost
line coming from the intake manifold going to
the overboost sensor and then to the alda.

I had a simular problem but it seemed only
to happen when going up hill.
I checked, and it turned out that I had somehow
broken the hard line going into the banjo bolt
at the alda.
I happened once before while doing an oil change,
I broke the hard line running behind the oil filter
canister.

It had the Diesel Extreme makeover kit.

Valve adjustment

Radiator, water pump, thermostat ect replaced

And that was only a couple of weeks ago.

But now since doing these other things, all power is loss.

If I'm reading this right, it happened right after the above work? If so, you did something during the above activities.
I would first check the line from the manifold to the overboost relay, then on to the alda. [as stated above] If brittle it can get broken when replacing the valve cover after a valve adjustment. You might also want to verify that the valves were adjusted correctly, although that is probably less likely.
Ditto on most of the other stuff.....

Do you think that that may have clogged the filter in the fuel tank?

Also, sometimes when using a fuel cleaner/ fungus destroyer, you break loose particles in the tank which migrate to the strainer and then on to the filters. I would think you would see some of that in the clear pre-filter, though....

My 300SDL had a similar problem, after 200k. Overnight, after it shifted out of first, it just would have no power. I think I had the same comments about walking would be faster. I use to run diesel purge regularly, had changed the fuel filters a few months before, and I thought it was a vacuum problem. I took it into the dealer and after about 2 days they found that the culprit was the fuel compensator attached to the fuel injector. The first one they put in had problems with the idle, they ended up replacing that one and the last year and a half it's been running like a champ.

Sweet I found out what the problem was!!

It seems that when I replaced the ALDA lines a while back.

The were made of shoddy material.

And sort of disintegrated In just a few weeks.

I am going to replace the lines with rubber ones later on today.

Thanks guys I appreciate all your help!

And will let you know if anything else happens.

Tony
