Boost Controller and Gauge

With all the recent threads on this topic, looks like I'll putting them in in the D's. Just a question from those who have done this.

Do all the fittings needed to connect this to the engine come with the controller and gauge? if not, what type of fitting and thread npt is needed?

And if an electrical connection is needed to light up the gage, where has been the popular spot to connect it to?

In checking some websites, seems egauges.com has some reasonably priced units although I did not find a controller in their website.

I used a T in the ALDA line for the boost gauge.

I bought a boost guage from JC Whitney. I know, they have a rep for some cheap stuff, but the guage, I think, was a good deal. It came with an assortment of fittings to plumb into the intake (where that little plug bolt is--you just remove that and stick the adapter in there). I went with a Voodoo boost guage found on ebay. I mounted the boost guage under the dash in one of the existing dash screws down under the steering wheel area. And I didn't wire it to light up. My thinking there is that you basically only need the guage once when you're adjusting boost. I very rarlely monitor boost--never at night. Too many other things to concentrate on while trying to arrive at your next destination in one piece--fussing kids, der polizia, favorite song on the radio, etc. ;-)

You will hear some howling if your turbo is overboosting.

There is an M10x1.00 plug on the side of the intake.

the intake manifold plug is 1/8-27 pipe thread on my 85 300SD. Some thing never change, and good old NPT is wonderful to find...Plumbed that to my
manifold gauge.

I'd bet you $20 that it's M10x1.00. NPT will barely thread into it, but it's still cross threading.
