have found out the exposed wire that is the passengers side primary release
but that all ready works

and piviot I can see and have been messing with is the drivers secondary

so how do I get at the drivers primary or the cable to it

this is a pic of what you need to pry on to open the hood on the drivers side. you should be able to grasp it and push it to the right to pop that side. see the cable that passes through to the passenger's side at the top right of the picture? that is what must move. It is about 1.5 inches to the left of the headlight. on mine there is about 1/2" gap between light and hood grille. a screwdriver should fit in there fine to move the bracket.

help this hood is stuck!!!!!!

thanks for the picture but the darn hood will not release
I pried the lever over to the drivers side as far as I could
it looked like it moved enuff and eazyly too
ever forced a screwdriver in the gap created below the pivot point
to see if I could get the full movement to hear the pop
but no pop and the hood willnot release
tryed wedgeing the hood up on the released side and a short drive on bumpie roads but no luck

any other ideas??

fixed

how to do it for the record
with a long 1ft or more rod
go in the second line grill box 3 from the top
shine a flash lite in the crack between the outside of the grill
and the headlite
about 1/2 way on the release lever there is a V shaped notch
put your rod in that and push
if a smiple push fails to release
soak the area with spray oil [wd-40, pb blaster ect] thru the straw [to keep the oil of the paint]
retry in a while
if it still is stuck
hammer lightly on the end of the rod,
while beating on the hood with your hand near the catch point

stuck hood

Nasty. Good work.

I recently spend half an hour cleaning 24 years of crap out of both my hood latches. I have to replace the release cable this weekend and I have been scared ****less that I will get the length adjustment on it wrong and won't be able to open the hood.

Glad you're up and running.

.........get a helper (not too heavy) to sit on the hood right above the latch.

This removes the tension in the catch and you should have no further trouble in easily moving the latch.........without WD-40 and without a hammer.
