New sunroof seals for wind noise
I have wind noise coming into my car, and I hate that. Someone said maybe it's the seals and the doors and sunroof. Though it's hard to tell where the noise is coming at when you're doing 70 mph, (I'm more watching the road acutally), I do suspect the sunroof. I called a place today, and about fell over when he told me the seal was $180. I check ebay, they have some for the W123, none for the W124 that I have.
I started thinking, in lieu of $180, maybe there's a seal fixer sort of thing, or maybe just a lube (vaseline for example) to smear on it to give it some life. I haven't looked at it, but sure it's not dryrotted, but probably dry which would have made it shrink, allowing wind to come in. Any thoughts? Jeff 1991 300d, 105k |

I don't generaly like aftermarket seals. But $180? Call another dealer they are raping you.

My mistake, only $80.

80 is high, but not bad. I paid 60 ish for the set of seals for my 79 TD, it consisted of a long rear seal, two aluminum clad side seals, and a thick rubber front seal. I found it a fair price.
I wonder how different the seals are on a 124... does fastlane stock them? call or email phil, they will at least quote you their prices on them. John
