water pump

Do not forget that a water pump that sits a long time loses lubrication and will fail shortly after beginning to be run again (a few thousand miles maybe) so consider it PM to renew it.

I like to replace serviceable fluids and belts/hoses initially as well. Just good insurance.

So far I have done belts, fuel filters, and primer pump. This weekend's tasks will be a coolant flush, T-stat replacement and oil change.

I just got a "new" 82 CD & a few of the first things I did just about is

the trunk inspection ; take out the carpet; the cover, the spare; and any remnants of the tool kit & loose golf range balls;

clean all the crap out from the wheel wells & lift out both sides of wheel well covers. Then I clean the entire inside of the trunk, and look for any rust even surface rust. ( & treat where needed..)

Then under the hood springs clean out all the crap like leaves , mud, washers, loose nuts & bolts , mini wrenches , dead mice.....etc...Then hose out both sides and open up the drain holes so it stays clean for next 10 years.

303 the dash, console & steering wheel, then everything mentioned above.
