hello,
I bought the cheap wound filters and the 15 dollar filter houses. They have worked just fine. I put a cheap harbor freight water pump before the filters and the whole setup works well. It is a cheap way to filter wvo. Also, if you have dirty veggie oil I recommend prefiltering to about 50 microns because it makes the wound filters last longer. I have a 5 micron and 1 micron filters in series after the pump. I have a long clear hose that I use to stick right into my tank. I turn on my pump until my 21 gallon tank is full. Doesnt take long. Plus if you buy the filters in bulk, they are pretty cheap. DK

thanks for the input, about how may gallons do you get before you need to change the filters? I have relatively clean, well settled oil that I use...

If you let your oil settle and it is relatively clean, one filter will last you a couple hundred gallons. It all depends on the type. I had a filter that lasted over 150 gallons and then filtered some chinese oil that I had and the filter clogged up immediately. I bought the large back of the filters and I am pretty happy with the pricing.
