Upshift auto transmission 240D

My transmission will upshift fine if I don't get on, if I step on it will slip between shifting points. Is there any easy way to correct this?
I purchased this car with a blown engine from a person in New Hampshire. The vehicle is in excellent condition except for cruise control and minor transmission problems.

Thank you for any help you can provide in advance.

Upshift auto transmission 240D

If I let my car pick up speed gradually the transmission will up shifts smoothly.
If I step on it, it will slip between shift points. Is there any easy fix for this problem? Plus it will not downshift.
Any help on this situation would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance

The 1980 & later 240D's use vacuum controls & have a vacuum modulator.

There are several plastic on/off vacuum switches on the valve cover that can & will affect those shifts..
