603 rough shutting down
My 87 300tdt has not been shutting down too smoothly. Is replacing the shutoff solenoid much work for a novice? Also if that is not the cause are there any other common reasons for a rough shutdown? Thanks.

My 87 does the same. It's the only time that you really feel vibration through the car. I am interested to hear what is said on this one!

Ever felt the 5cyl 617 engine shut down? It shakes the car. A diesel shakes when it shuts down because of the immense compression in the cylinders abruptly stopping the engine when the fuel is taken away. A gasser spins more on its way to being stopped, thus its gentler.
Big trucks really shudder when they're powered down. The 603 probably has minimal shake as it is balanced, but if it is severe, it may be bad motor mounts or worn engine shocks or something. Not much else it could be beyond that.
