a/c coming out only on defrost

hi guys. this is for a 1990 350sdl. i have seen the posts regarding this problem. specifically, the actuator under the dash is leaking.

however, i would like to know if there is a way to somehow disconnect the actuator and just keep the airflow set to blow thru the center vents. maybe use golf tees? could someone post some procedures?

also, what does the actuator look like? i can't find a pic on the fastlane website.

Thank you.

1 Question. Before it started blowing out the defrost vents - were the flaps noisey opening and closing?

center vacuum pod

sounds like your center vacuum pod died - not a fun repair job as it is pretty buried in the dash. Takes a lot of time to get to it, though not physically tough.

I used a pictorial on pindelski.com to fix mine (pay for site - but worth it).
