I broke the little copper tab, (circled)..

I was just about to disect this thing and possibly fix it as I see where the contact points are inside that are not touching... (for my right turns)

Do these copper tabs serve any purpose or can it survive just like that???

1981 240d (engine donor 1983 240d) recently rebuilt engine hurray! - No more.. fought a tree and the tree won.

pearl black 1983 240d 4speed (Converted!@$$%) atleast the tranny was rebuilt.

I forgot to add that they are like spring loaded and can retract into itself and come sright back out....
