Question The secret life of Prechambers...help needed...

While taking out my old heat shields and preparing to install my new injectors I tried my best to keep any of the carbon build up from dropping down into the prechambers...

But, of course, Im sure very small amounts of carbon got down in there. There was a lot of build up on some of the cylinders. Also, on #3 a very, very small shard of paper towel got down there and I missed on my one and only shot to retrieve it. Doh.

Do I need to pull the prehchambers to clean that stuff out? Or would the carbon and paper towel shard be incinerated on the first combustion and I shouldn't worry about it?

Thanks so much...
dd

PS My #1 heat shield was installed backwards by the PO or his mechanic. What a mess! No wonder that injector got gummed up and was nailing...yikes.

That paper towel is nothing to stress about, it'll be gone in seconds. The carbon, maybe try blowing it out with a little compressed air....I would imagine a small bit like that and floating around loose, it would also become quickly consumed.

If the injectors are out, just crank it a few times. Should blow it out. Cover the injector lines with an old rag to catch fuel squirt.
