external full load stop....
How far out, should the full load stop bolt be set at?
Because I can turn it in all the way and the linkage still takes up the slack as I adjust, and I lost track of where it was

What exactly are you talking about? The "throttle" stop screw on the outside of the IP?

I see them an average of 1/8" - 1/4" from the locknut.

It won't hurt to have it against the locknut, just don't remove it completely.

Oh, Okay, Good to know. Against the locknut, would that then be absolute full load?

It's not full load setting. It's a linkage stop to prevent the internal pump linkage from being forced past a certain point.
