'84 300DTD wagon exhaust
I just bought an 84 300tdt wagon. Overall it's in decent mechanical shape. But the guy I bought it from had the muffler wired on just under the back bumper.
I was going to re-attach it correctly with rubber donuts when I discovered that the exhaust doesn't really look like it will fit where they are suppoed to be attached. Also there are no attachment points welded on theend of the pipe. I also have an 83sd turbodiesel (for parts) and the factory original exaust looks totally different. Are these cars supposedto have the same exhaust pipe? Can I interchange them? Does anybody have a link to a diagram or photo to show what the correct exhaust pipe configuration should look like? |

for the wagon it takes a different rear muff which exits to the side. this puts the exhaust away from the wagon lift gate. a sedan muff will probably work but i suspect you will get fumes inside.
