soldering of ccu?

I have a nonfunctional ccu out of a W126. I have heard that resoldiering the connections fixes that problem. How is this done? Do you just remelt the soldier? Which connections need sodiering? The fan does not turn on at all. Also, some of the joints on the back of the main board inside the ccu have no evidence of being soldiered. Is that normal?

The pins that connect to the harness don't look like they're soldered but they are. Just on the other side of the board. But cold solder joints can cause problems if your ccu is not working. That's the first thing to try. Unless you don't mind spending the cash on a new one.

Sometimes you can remelt but then sometimes you will find solder drops in the case. The picture attached is a bad solder.

I re soldered mine

I cleaned up the old solder with a de-soldering tool (looks like a syringe)and then re soldered using a small iron from Radio Shack (15 or 20 watts) and it worked fine. Just be careful, those joints are close together. I also had to run a jumper wire where the printed circuit had broken.
