An easier method is to go to a junkyard or ebay, buy the zebrano panel that is blank, above the radio, on a 201 '84-'91, cut/shape it to fit the ashtray opening and bore holes for your gauges, ... perfect match.

It's not supposed to in a Mercedes Diesel. If it does, it's a sign of a problem.

I have my Garrett and my KKK both pushing 11PSI. To set them, I ran hose under the fender, and in through the window. After it's set, I really don't see a need to monitor it like that.

BTW, I like the ease of adjustability and quick spooling of the KKK much better (1800 RPM vs. 2000 RPM). I'd get another 3K for my '82, but the 3K's only came out in 1983 and I want to keep it more or less correct for its year.

Still getting around to this ... and another Q ... I am using the vacuum tubing from the dealership as I have quite a bit of it on hand. What fitting(s) do I need to get it plugged into the back of the gauge? Where do I get such hardware? The instructions that come with the gauge aren't too explicit. Someday I'll get this thing plugged in.

So...would I have a KKK on my 85 federal W123?

I used the ashtray space for SVO switches and fuel level gage.

So the intake boost pressure gage got near the upper left corner of the shifter. Fits real nice there.

And the light... I tapped in the lighter wires, it only comes on once the car is turned on.

Bye

It's VERY easy to tell the two apart. The K26 also had the ARV and EGR in 84+85.

KKK K26 on the left, Garrett T3 on the right for Kalifornia models.

Mine doesn't look like either picture. The turbo is down lower mostly hidden by the air filter.
