10K mile OCI results using Delvac-1

Howdy all,
Here are the results of my 10K mile OCI using 5W-40 Delvac-1. I will probably let the next change go about 7,500 miles.

Interesting -- cool to see someone else's report.

I also recently started using Blackstone, and am very impressed with their service and analysis.

Cheers, John

Looks pretty good. I'm surprised they don't list soot %, unless that's what insolubles is supposed to represent.

I still wonder what 240Joe's oil tests like. I haven't seen any posts on any forums since he was banned from MB shop the second time and from BenzWorld later on.

It shows a little potassium, but no sodium, with a question mark but no actual measurement on the ethelene glycol (antifreeze). There is some thought that readings like that might be due to fuel addatives. I get similar readings on my 617 with the same oil. I wonder if the virgin oil might contain a little potassium? It might be interesting to look up a voa on the Delvac1. With no sodium, I doubt it is antifreeze.

FWIW, this is a 10K analysis I had done for my 82 300D a couple of years ago.

Information on Oil Lab

Do you have information, link, etc. on the Oil Lab that did this analysis. I had been wanting to test my oil since I bought my car to get an idea of what problems I might have, and to establish a baseline to measure against.
