Dextron VI
Does anyone know if i can change my tranny oil with new dextron VI??
I couldnt get synthetic Dextron III so i bought the VI,does anyone out there know if this is ok?? |

We have no idea what type of car nor year you have. Please add these to your signature. My 81 300CD was completely drained and Dextron/Mercon 5 was installed 4 mo. ago. I feel no change.

You're probably fine. I just wouldn't use Dexron 3 in a Dexron 6 tranny though.

Mendo......if you already have it....use it. Usually each succession of DEXRON product is compatible with the previous formula designed for an earlier transmission. Read the back label. It is Ok to go up ie. DEXIII to DEXVI but not down.
