Compressor Clutch shorted Can I change the Clutch
Can I change just the clutch on my W124's AC compressor? It's on an 87 300d.
I was blowing fuses and finally figured out why after about 4 fuses. The clutch would still engage but drew huge current. I measured the Impedance accross it and got .2ohms!!! Ouch! ANyways, I know the clutch is an electromagnet. Is there a fixable part on the compressor? Possible that inside somewhere the insulation on wires to the magnet's coil shorted to it's grounded chassis?
