Congratulations, very nice score
I will admit that I didn't read through all the replys but I know you got some good scoop on the care and feeding of these old cars, like "throw away your Armoral". My advice is ..."dont do anything (including VO system) except the maintenance, valves oil, filters, etc... Just drive it for a while. When I first got my euro 240D I was going too get rid of my euro bumpers!, had I acted on my first instincts , I would be pissed now. You have a real classic there and Chico is a great place too be with it. (not just because of all the cute coeds, the weathers nice too) There are some great wrecking yards not far down the valley , and there are still enough of those cars around that "parts car" are available. You too could become a "240D NUT" with a back yard full of rusty parts cars. Happy motoring

$2200 is almost exactly what I paid for my 72 220d back in about 1990. It looked just like your car but in powder blue.
