When I dropped the turbodiesel engine and transmission in my W115, I took the old one off and put the new one in as a unit. I had to take the hood off for obvious reasons but that was ok. I only wish I could take the nose off as a VW, Volvo, or Saab.

I have taken engines and transmission out and put them back in Volvos, VWs, RX7s, Mercedes, Mitsubishis, and Hondas. I think I also did a Mustang, but am not sure. I have also rebuilt engines but never transmissions. But, since I still do not feel like I am at the same level and most members, I like to consider me an entry-level amateur, a benchracer who seeks to climb on the shoulders of giants.
