This WHOLE THREAD is another fine example of how some ARROGANT IDIOTS run new people off. Are we not here to HE each other? As opposed to putting people done?

Swear to God, I come here for what reason exactly? To discuss MB Diesels or to read people putting others down.

This is why people may have 100 posts and never return. They find another board that is willing to help out the new person. Good grief.

TW if you are so into reading try "How to Win Friends and Influence People"

This is the $3/bottle stuff like STP, "Advance Auto Parts super concentrated fuel injector cleaner". It does mention "jet fuel used as carrier". Jet fuel is kerosene.

I dump a bottle into the tank of my Rodeo maybe once every couple of years, I thought I was doing good. Well, it's certainly never harmed the Rodeo. I guess Beagle would say that if you'd done it regularly over the Benz's life then this wouldn't happen, it's only when you do it for the first time after 26 years that the problems occur.

If all this can come from 8 ounces of injector cleaner I'll go buy a syphon and suck out ~16 gallons of $4 diesel fuel and throw it away (or give it to somebody for heating oil). Is that what I should do here?

RUN IT!!!

You try telling people truth that they don't want to hear and see how well you do it. Facts just confuse emotional arguments, confusion leads to stronger emotion.

By the way, I could take your post to be a little judgemental and hypocritical from where I sit but I don't really care. So, have a nice evening.

I went out this morning to be greeted by a large oily stain near my right rear wheel. It seems that I overfilled the tank with the injector cleaner more than I thought. Since the car hadn't been started or moved I reasoned that whatever injector cleaner made it into the tank would be concentrated in the neck. I went to the auto parts store and bought a $2 siphon and used that to suck out 1/2 gallon of fuel at the neck. Hopefully there's not very much in the tank now.

Sometimes incompetence can work in your favor. Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of the stain. I dumped hot water, then soapy hot water, then finally a small bottle of dish soap on it. I don't think the condo association is going to be pleased.
