or you can anneal it and sand it down


step 1

use a propane torch or a gas fired oven(use the burner) hang it over the heat 2-3 seconds at most..

then let cool so you can handle is ... use a fine grit... (not too fine) and sand both sides

tip) so not to sand down your fingers place the washer between two pieces of sand paper and sand both sides at once.


clean off... and reinstall..

works well... then make a note to pick up a new one for the next filter change
