True. But then why was anti-seize used for years (along with red lead) for the contact points of brake shoes and other brake hardware (like an adjusting wheel) in drum brake setups? I think that one advantage with anti-sieze is that it not given to thermal breakdown (in the case of extreme heat generated by brake shoes rubbing against a backing plate)?

FSM specifies ATF for those joints! (makes you wonder what the tinman in oz used)
