w126 wipers

so i woke up this morning to rain, and no whipers in my SD. I think its eclectrical. so i checked all my fuses and rolled them to make sure there was no corrosion in the way. I lost my fuse chart so i don't know exactly what fuse if the one that might be bad.

i think its electrical because if i push on the whinsheild washer sprayer it doesn't spray. and if it was a mechanical problem with the whipers the washers should still spray. so the problem is ether in the fuse box or the switch... i think... they were working yesterday... what could have gone worng?

any ideas?

thanks

Nik

The combination switch harness comes out of the column to the left of the steering column under the dash.

If you loosen the underdash cover, you can break the connection and check the function of the switch. I've had more than a few combination switches bite the dust over the years.

Otherwise, you can get to the wiper motor by pulling the cowling at the base of the windshield.

my wipers work on spray mode but water doesn't spray

Don't think there is a dedicated washer fuse
usually fuses control numerous things
& if it was blown tyere would be some other obvious things not working...

Ypur problem could be in the dash connection since having both oroblems simultaneously is not likely
My wipers work but washer doesn't spray
so I guess electric is OK

where would I look?
I poked in jet holes & they seem clear

I suppose there is a washer pump or motor?

No biggie
at this point glad wipers work

Odd thing is the wipers seem to be set up to clean entire lower pass side but not the drivers side?
Is there a reason why they seem to be moounted onpass side * & not on drivers side?

Car is a euro but has steering wheel on left so it should be set up to drive same?

now I have to try to install the new bosch refills & they look different than old...

Fuse chart

Here is a fuse chart you could print out and use temporarily, to you get one, Nik
